OpenAI has come up with a new way through which one can access ChatGPT via WhatsApp and phone calls, making the use of the chatbot easier.
WhatsApp Messaging
Anyone across the world can now engage with ChatGPT through a message on WhatsApp. This feature enables anybody to interact with the AI in the form of a chat without registering for this platform or for a separate application.
Phone Calling Feature (US Only)
In the United States only, people can contact the chatbot by dialing the number 1-800-CHATGPT. Key details include:
- Free Usage: 10 minutes of free voice conversation per month.
- Accessibility: Works on flip phones and landline phones.
- No Account Required: It is not necessary to register to use ChatGPT as a user can talk to it.
Important Limitations
- WhatsApp messaging allows for text only as a mode of communication.
- This service has daily message sending limits.
- Some of the enhanced functions such as image generation have not been implemented.
OpenAI introduced this feature within a few weeks with their “12 days of OpenAI” initiative to bring the power of AI to everyone.
